* Explain the CCNI Code of Ethics and Ministry Conduct and their application.

The student will be able to identify and explain issues such as self-esteem, depression, personality disorders, sexuality, sexual abuse, eating disorders, addictions, spiritual abuse, relationship and family counselling. 6.1 International Students

All JTI course are by Distance Learning. The Board of Jubilee Training Institute have accepted applications from students who reside outside New Zealand. All students, regardless of country of residence, must supply all required information, documentation and fees, plus have the required Referees' forms completed. Students doing the Diploma in Christian Counselling and Pastoral Care, any or all of the five Certificates which constitute that Diploma, as well as the Certificate in People Caring Skills will also require to confirm that they have a competent and qualified Supervisor. Proof of this will be required by including an original letter on the Supervisor's official letterhead agreeing to act in that position in a professional way. Any failure to supply all required documentation will cause delays in processing the application. Getting replies from Referees and/or Supervisors can also take some time.

6.2 Costs for all students outside New Zealand will be slightly greater, due to the increased costs of postage and delivery costs associated with getting the Manuals etc. to the student.

6.3 The Assignment papers for all students will be available on a CD in Microsoft Word format (XP edition) so they can complete them and return their Assignments by email, or by post, as the student wishes. All marking is done in paper format, so the costs in printing off emailed assignments will be included in the fees. Jubilee Training Institute prefers to send marks updates to students by email.

7.1 Biculturalism & Multiculturalism

All students are expected to be sensitive to others needs, including issues to do with biculturalism and multiculturalism. Some special assignments have been designed to assist students in becoming more aware of these issues. Since all students will be in relationship with God through Jesus Christ, we are all commanded "For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as are baptised into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for we are all one in Christ Jesus," (Galatians 3:28).

For the best of reasons, we believe the true Christian message crosses cultural, gender and ethnic boundaries. We are seeking a reasonable Christian cultural response rather than an exclusive culture based on ethnicity, geography or other potentially-divisive issues not central to the Gospel message.

8.2 Grievance, Appeal and Disciplinary Procedures

All concerns will be dealt with in a prompt and sensitive manner. Staff are available to discuss any student concerns. Should any student feel that an issue has not been dealt with effectively, a meeting will be arranged with that student, including the Dean, the Principal, and an independent representative. If the student is not satisfied with this decision, Jubilee Training Institute will call a meeting of The Grievances and Disciplinary committee, consisting of the Principal, the Dean, two Board members and two members of the Advisory Board. If the matter cannot be resolved amicably by this committee, the issue will be referred to a neutral body, with any costs incurred borne equally between Jubilee Training Institute and the Student. The purposes of The Grievances and Disciplinary committee will be to investigate all complaints on assessment marking, any allegations of plagiarism/cheating by students and any possible disciplinary matters relating to staff or students. Any grievance regarding assessments must be lodged within one month of the return of a marked assignment to the student. This does not circumscribe the student's right to pursue other legal remedies.

8.3 Recognition of Prior Learning and Direct Credit Transfer

Recognition of Prior Learning and Direct Credit Transfer may be granted to students if adequate documentation is presented or competency skills demonstrated in particular assignments. To transfer credits from another institution or obtain recognition of prior learning, a $50 administration fee will apply prior to the evaluation being made. Original or Certified copies of Transcripts from other institutions must be supplied. It is doubtful significant credits will be awarded to those who have trained (in full or in part) in secular counselling. Our purpose for courses in the School of Christian Counselling is to train students in Christian/Biblical methodology, and we would prefer students completed the whole course rather than only parts of it, in order to gain the maximum benefit.

Those who complete the J.T.I. Certificate in People Caring Skills will be able to apply that as a significant credit should they wish to proceed with study with the Diploma in Christian Counselling and Pastoral Care. There will be a discount for any student wishing to do this as they will already have the Study manuals. Significant Priot Learning Credits will be granted on application in this instance

Students studying any course which is part of the School of Christian Counselling may submit attendance at any training course or seminar, such as Isaiah 61 Prayer Ministry, Elijah House, Ellel, Singing Waters or similar for Prior Learning Credits.

8.4 Use of Personal Information:<

All details that relate to enrolled students shall remain absolutely confidential. However, all students need to be aware that Jubilee Training Institute will need to report student status for review and evaluation purposes. Students have a right to access and challenge information concerning them held on file, with the exception of confidential reports provided by supervisors and/or referees. Jubilee Training Institute accepts an enrolment upon receipt of the required forms and payment on the understanding that the student has read and understands the implications of this and all clauses. When required by statute, Jubilee Training Institute must release information to N.Z. Government agencies such as the N.Z. Police, Department of Justice, Work & Income N.Z. and Accident Rehabilitation Compensation Corporation (A.C.C.). This will apply to New Zealand-based students only, as we do not foresee any similar requirement for students living outside New Zealand. However we would consult the relevant student if any request for such information comes to Jubilee Training Institute from any overseas government, educational or similar agency, such as a professional counselling body desiring confirmation of completion of a course by a student.

8.5 Equal Opportunity

The policy of Jubilee Training Institute is to ensure equal opportunity and access for all students and employment of personnel and contractors of goods and services regardless of gender, race, age, nationality, marital status, disability, citizenship status or political convictions. Students will have to agree with the Statement of Faith listed below.
